Rev. Sun Myung Moon, founder of the Unification Movement, dies at 92

sunghwaThe Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, the leader of the Unification Church died early morning on September 3rd in South Korea. He was 92. He passed away just before 2 am local time from complications of pneumonia, surrounded by family, friends and followers.
On September 6, the fourth day from his Ascension (Seonghwa), began the visits of personages connected to the Unification Church from Korea and abroad to pay reverence at Cheongshim Peace World Center situated in Gyeonggi Province. On the first day, 15,000 people including 3,000 Japanese people visit the shrine in respect of his memory. Over the first weekend after his ascension, 39,500 people came to pay their respects to Rev. Moon in advance for the Memorial Service on September 15th. The visits continued with an average of 20,000 people per day. VIPs from Korea and abroad are succeeding one another to pay their respects as well. The visitors included religious leaders, corporate leaders and public
sector leaders such as members of the Korean National Assembly and Mali's President Dioncounda
